Rishi Chandra, VP of Product Management, Google has today launched Google Home and Google Home Mini for the Indian market. The mini smart speakers have been priced at Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 4,499 respectively and have been made available exclusively on Flipkart starting from yesterday. Also these can be bought from over 750 offline stores including Reliance Digital, Croma store, Bajaj Electronics etc.
For the international market Google has launched three products, including Google Home, Google Home Mini and Google Home Max. But for now Indian market will have to wait for the Home Max.
Google Home is a smart mini speaker that comes with Google Assistant which enables the users to interact with it using voice commands. Multiple Home Mini can be installed in different rooms of a house for with inter connectivity among all for a synced automation. Using voice commands, user can listen to music, received news updates, control playback of videos and photos, etc.
Similar to the Amazon Echo, it also comes with integrated support for Home Automation, which lets the user to control smart home appliances/devices using their voice. With an updated received in April 2017, multi user support is now available in Google Home making it to recognize the voice of up to 6 peoples.
